Norma Inez Rye, 97, of Moorhead, MN formerly of Mayville ND, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at home in Moorhead. Norma (Renden) was born February 28, 1916 to Nels and Inga (Wolden) Renden at rural Blanchard, ND. She was baptized, confirmed and attended schools in the Blanchard and Mayville communities. She married William Rye on August 20, 1936 at Hillsboro, ND. The couple settled in Libertyville, IL where they operated the New Castle Hotel and Apts. Later they purchased the Renden farm at Blanchard where they farmed until retirement. In 1976 they purchased a home in Mayville. Norma worked 12 years as a dietetic supervisor at the Luther Memorial Home in Mayville.

Esther Hanson Thorpe, age 95 of Detroit Lakes, went to heaven on Easter Sunday morning, March 31, 2013, at Oak Crossing in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. 
Ruth Ann Maixner, 94, Fargo passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Essentia Health Hospital, Fargo. 
Leonard Siedschlag passed peacefully at the Veterans Administration Hospital early Wednesday morning, the third of April, Twenty-thirteen. According to one of his caring physicians and current UND professor, Dr. Byron Danielson, Leonard was one of the longest living kidney transplant recipients in American history. In 1967 when kidney transplant operations were risky and in their infancy, his oldest brother Wendell was the best match for Leonard and donated his kidney. 
Dorothy Ann Hough was born to Niels and Anna (Hansen) Nielsen on February 3, 1930, near Rothsay, MN. She grew up on the farm near Rothsay where she attended school graduating in 1948. She was united in marriage to Armand Hough on June 13, 1948. They lived in Barnesville, MN, where Armand ran Hough's Market and Dorothy worked many various jobs. While in Barnesville, they were members of St. James United Church of Christ and Dorothy's passion was singing in the church choir. Dorothy had a beautiful voice and was a soloist at many weddings and funerals. 
Charles Blomquist of Edmore ND passed away on Monday, April 1, 2013 at First Care Health Center in Park River, ND at the age of 76.
