Helen Eilene Fitzpatrick, 89, passed away on September 18, 2013 at St. Luke's Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri. She was born in 1924 in Miller SD to Charles "Pard" and Lucretia (Monroe) Brandsted. They moved to the Red River Valley of North Dakota in 1934 to farm. Helen went to a one-room country school and Amenia High School. She graduated in Home Economics from North Dakota Agricultural College (now NDSU) in Fargo then taught in Tower City after her marriage to Edward Leach in 1947. They had 4 children; Barbara Lea, of Kansas City, James Leach of Manteca, California, Douglas Leach of San Ramon California and Michael Leach of Couer d'Alene Idaho.
