Morlan Martin Johnson was born March 22, 1928 in Polk County MN to John & Ethel Johnson. He graduated from Fertile, MN High School in 1946. Following graduation, he enlisted in the US Navy, upon discharge he worked for the Great Northern Rail Road. He was called up several years later as a reservist during the Korean conflict. He attended Moorhead State University and upon graduation he taught, at Moorhead Senior High, MN from September 1, 1964 - June 4th 1993, english & reading. Morlan passed away Friday, August 9, 2013 in Kindred Hospital,Fargo, ND. He was a quiet, gentle man who will be greatly missed. His interests ranged from showing horses, making improvements to his property, tinkering with things, ideas and words. He was an avid reader. His latter years he enjoyed restoring cars. He is survived by his wife Gloria Johnson, children David Johnson,& Deidre Fancher, grandson Garret Johnson and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Avis (Carl) Carlson, Elledy (Roz) Menge, Ruth Johnson, Bernice (Harry) Wolf and Janet Johnson. No services are planned at this time.
