Irene Sanders, 96, of Oakes, ND, died August 6, 2013, at the Good Samaritan Society, Oakes. Irene Henrietta Bork was born February 9, 1917 at Edgeley, ND to Gust and Emma (Beglau) Bork. On April 9, 1917 she was baptized into the Lutheran faith in a country church near Edgeley, ND, and she was confirmed on March 25, 1934. She attended LaMoure Country grade school, and graduated from Edgeley High School in 1934. She attended North Dakota State University, graduating in 1938 with a BS degree in home economics education. Irene taught for two years in Watford City, ND and one year in Bismarck, ND prior to her marriage. She also spent eight summers at Camp Grassick at Dawson, ND.
