Peggy Lee Wagar Jernigan was born December 18, 1952 in Homestead, Florida to Fern & Roy Wagar. Peggy was raised in Gilby, North Dakota, and graduated from Midway School in 1970. She moved to Northern California as a young adult to pursue a career in the field of respiratory therapy. Peggy passed away on August 3, 2013 in Oroville, CA after a long battle with cancer. Peggy met and fell in love with Bruce Jernigan and they were united in marriage on June 12, 1982, in Las Vegas, NV. Shortly thereafter they moved to Oroville, CA and eventually built their own home in Berry Creek, CA. Peggy worked at Oroville Hospital as a Respiratory Therapist and sleep lab technician for 28 years. Peggy was known for her very sweet, soft spoken, spunky personality and was loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Peggy had a love for animals, especially her two dogs, Sugar and Rags. Peggy was a very active participant at the Berry Creek Grange and enjoyed cooking breakfast for guests. She had a true gift and passion for making beautiful quilts and dolls. Peggy and Bruce also enjoyed gold mining as one of their favorite hobbies together. Peggy also enjoyed many other hobbies which included cooking, reading and spending time with family. Peggy was preceded in death by her husband Bruce Jernigan and her father Roy Wagar. Surviving family members include; her mother, Fern Wagar of Gilby, ND; sister, Virginia (Craig) Garland of North Bend, OR; and brother, Doren (Merrily) Wagar of Waseca, MN. Nieces and nephew include Kelli (Ryan) Douglass of Vancouver, WA; Beth (Lance) Oddan of Plymouth, MN; Thomas (Ruth) Wagar of Shoreview, MN. Great nieces and nephew, Anne, Helen & Joe. Peggy's Celebration of Life Services will be held on Friday, August 9, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Baptist Church 3646 Oro Dam Blvd. Oroville, CA.
