Mildred "Millie" Stange was born March 9, 1922 at Prosper ND to Ben and Ella Stange. She grew up in the Davenport area on her parent's farm. After graduating from Lincoln High School in Casselton in 1941, she married Leo Janisch on August 9, 1941 and they moved to San Francisco, CA, where she worked for Southern Pacific Railroad and the telephone co. and they started their family with the birth of their first child Rodney. They returned to the Durbin area in 1948 and farmed for 30 years. She lived on her grandfather's farmstead until 1992 when she sold it to her daughter Rhonda and husband Jeff. She worked for Jupe's in Casselton and Club 94 for over 30 years. Millie's favorite memory of the Club 94 was all the "young kids", as she called them, who kept her young at heart as she thought of them as extended family.
